Director General of the International Organization for Migration from 1998 to 2008, Brunson McKinley brings a wealth of experience to the new Association for International Mobility, of which he is Co-Chair. As a career U.S. diplomat before joining IOM, Ambassador McKinley served on all continents, specializing in political and humanitarian work. Under his leadership, IOM grew rapidly -- in membership, budget and programmatic scope -- to become an important multilateral partner for governments. Ambassador McKinley sees equally great potential for improving international mobility through well designed action by the private sector and civil society, the main partners of AIM.
